1. BergHOFF 1800 Watt Portable Touch Screen Induction Cooktop Stove
Let’s begin with our most expensive option. The BergHOFF1800 watt hot plate is fairly high-end, and it is the largest hot plate on our list. It is advertised as a commercial-grade burner, but it can also be a great addition to your kitchen!
This burner has a lot of nice features. Like the other hot plates listed here, it is an induction cooker. That means there are no flames, and you don’t have to deal with dangerous coils.
You do have to have induction cookware, which basically means you can use any pot that a magnet sticks to.
Another nice aspect of this hot plate is that it features a touch screen. Touch technology isn’t just for iPhones and tablets! You can control this burner with a single tap, making it easy to prepare food on your counter top.
The control panel above the buttons is an easy-to-read LED display. You can choose your temperature from settings ranging from 150 to 450 degrees Fahrenheit.
The BergHOFF burner is excellent at energy efficiency. It detects the size of your cookware and only heats the necessary areas. It uses not only less energy than a stove, but also less energy than most hot plates!
Additionally, this hot plate is safe. If you remove a pan for more than 60 seconds, the burner will shut down.
It also has a low and high voltage warning system, and it comes with a timer so you won’t forget about your food and light something on fire. I’m not the only one who has done that before, right?
2. Max Burton 6200 Maxi-Matic Deluxe 1800-Watt Induction Cooktop
The Max Burton cooktop is a mid-priced induction hot plate. This burner is about half the price of the BergHOFF hot plate, but it still has a lot of nice features that make cooking easy.
This cooker has buttons and an LED display. You can choose from ten different settings that range from 100 to 450 degrees Fahrenheit.
This hot plate has a few safety features, including an overheat sensor that prevents heat and fire damage and a 180 minute timer. It does not have automatic shut-off when a pan is removed, however.
3. Secura 8100MC 1800W Portable Induction Cooktop Countertop Burner
This is the least expensive hot plate option on our list. The Secura burner costs significantly less than both the Max Burton and the BergHOFF hot plates.
If you want a reliable and affordable option, go with the Secura Portable Induction Cooktop!
Not only is this the least expensive option, but it’s also the smallest and lightest hot plate we are featuring in this post. It’s great for small spaces. If you have to store your hot plate, this is an easy one to use.
The Secura hot plate has a digital control panel. This includes a timer, plus ten temperature settings to choose from. You can select a temperature between 140 and 460 degrees with this hot plate.
As a plus, this burner also automatically shuts down after 60 seconds without a pan. It also has a low and high voltage warning system and displays an error message if anything is wrong.
While all three of these products are good hot plate options, they’re not all created equal. We can quickly weed out the Max Burton hot plate.
This is not the most affordable option, nor does it have all the features that are included in the other two models.
The two best options on this list are BergHOFF and Secura hot plates. The BergHOFF is multiple times more expensive than the Secura burner, but it does have a few extra features.
For one thing, the display is better and includes more options. For another, it is more energy efficient.
However, the Secura burner shares the most important features with the BergHOFF hot plate. It has an automatic shut-down feature that is activated by an empty burner.
It has a timer, and it has many temperature settings. In fact, the Secura has a slightly wider temperature range than the BergHOFF!
While the extra features and bigger size of the BergHOFF plate are nice, they don’t warrant the higher price tag.
If you need a hot plate that gets the job done and offers some safety features, you don’t have to look any further than the Secura induction burner. This is my top hot plate recommendation.
